    MONTREAL | A man was stabbed repeatedly on Tuesday night, after an argument which has degenerated into an apartment in the district of Hochelaga, in Montreal.

    The attempted murder, which would have been perpetrated by more than one individual, occurred at around 18: 40 in a housing of Sainte-Catherine street, near the avenue Valois.

    “The police arrived, they found a man of 38 years who had been wounded several times at the top and bottom of the body by a sharp object”, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

    The victim was transported in critical condition to the hospital, where doctors feared for his life in the evening.

    The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction, said POLICE. A dog handler and the police were called on site to do the sweeps in the neighborhood, in order to try to identify the suspects.

    The cause of the assault remained unknown in the early evening. An investigation has been opened.
