The Plaza Hotel of The Bay is found in the municipal court by reason of the occurrence of a pornographic held on his land last September.

The company AD4X had held auditions for a movie for adults in a trailer in the parking lot of the hotel. Dozens and dozens of stakeholders participated.

The hotel is contesting two citations, totaling about $ 2,400, which had been served. A first finding of infringement was provided for use of recreational facilities, not permitted, and a second for violating the rule on activities related to public places.

“The only one complainant appears to be the political authority, deplores the criminal defence lawyer Charles Cantin. I think that we pull in the foot, as a taxpayer, with such notes of offences which do not benefit anyone.”

Charles Cantin will volunteer the hotel in front of the municipal Court, on the 6th of march next. His argument is relatively simple: if a hotel can park a motor home on his property, what happens inside remains a private matter.

“What is it that actually happened in the trailer?, questions-t-it. The regulation is open to various interpretations and when there is a difference in interpretation, the Court must give reason to the taxpayer, in my opinion.”
