Beaten to death by police of a detainee from Nizhny Tagil was charged

In Nizhny Tagil two policemen charged with beating a detainee to death. The accused from the police station “Nizhny Tagil” detained.

Lawyer Alexei Bashmakov, which represents the interests of the sisters of the deceased, said that the police were charged not only under article about excess of powers of office, but also about deliberate causing of heavy harm to health, entailed death of the victim. Currently, two employees Nizhnetagilskogo OVD have detained. According to investigators, the police brutally beat a man detained on suspicion of theft. After the incident, the Department initiated an internal check, the results of which necessary action would be taken.

In a press-service SK said that on September 30 from the police Department a man hospitalized with multiple injuries of the head. The victim died in hospital on 3 October. In GU MVD in the region reported that the suspects were subjected to disciplinary measures. Tomorrow, 25 October, district court of Nizhniy Tagil will consider the petition of the investigation and send the operatives into custody.
