The citizens of Varennes are ordered to boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it, since the bacterium E. coli was detected in a sample, announced the municipality of the Montérégie region, on Wednesday.
This directive is valid until further notice.
Boiled water should be used for everything that is swallowed, to wash the raw food, or brushing teeth.
It is not necessary to boil tap water to wash the dishes, take a bath or wash clothes.
