BONAVENTURE – The Town of Bonaventure in the Gaspé peninsula is actively searching for the poor jokers who are left with the head of a sculpture of a bird that is located on the grounds of the tourist information office.

Employees discovered Monday morning that the bird, a sandpiper, had lost his head.

“The wood-carving is part of a series of other sculptures throughout the city. Unfortunately, someone is left with the head of the bird. It was a piece that could be removed, so it has not been broken. We don’t know who or for what reasons someone has taken the head of the work”, said Céline Breton, executive secretary to the City of Bonaventure.

“It is a platform for the artist, also a sculptor Caplan, Yoan Arsenault”, added mrs. Breton.

She just wishes that the person, who has made the bad joke, brings back the head to the tourist office or at the municipal office, anonymously.

No police complaint has been or will be made to the police.
