The public is advised not to consume the smoked salmon sold at the Market Artisans located on boulevard René – Lévesque Ouest in Montreal.

The notice is issued by the ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the merchant and the City of Montreal.

The press release indicates that the product “has not been conditioned in a way to ensure safety”.

The smoked salmon packaged under vacuum has been sold in various formats up to the 13 December inclusive. The product contains the statement “Market Artisans”.

No case of disease has been reported to the MINISTRY, but the people that have one of the smoked salmon purchased at that location are urged not to consume. They must return the trade or even throw it away.

“Even if the product does not present any sign of tampering or suspicious smell, the consume may pose a risk to human health”, said the release of the MAPAQ.
