The conductor Charles Dutoit, referred to by many of the allegations of sexual misconduct, could be stripped of the Order of Montreal.

The mayor of Montreal’s Valerie Plante was asked Wednesday, on the advisory committee of the institution to review its appointment process.

“Personally, I do not believe that a person who carries this bag also heavy allegations may rely upon this honorary title. At least, the thinking was needed. I ask the advisory committee to take the time to reflect on this question and we come back with answers, ” she said Wednesday at the meeting of the executive committee.

Charles Dutoit was named “Great Montrealer” in 1982.
