THREE-RIVERS – a preliminary investigation of Jonathan Bettez, who is facing a series of charges in connection with child pornography, is being held this week at the palais de justice de Trois-Rivières.

A series of witnesses will be heard by the court, despite the absence of the accused, who is hospitalized for treatment.

On Monday, the court first heard Alexandre Lachance and Alexandre Allard, two analysts of information for the royal Canadian mounted police and the Sûreté du Québec. Mr. Allard work in the department of the fight against the sexual exploitation of children (specialized in child pornography).

Their job is to analyze the material that is being submitted by the police and the investigators.

TVA News was revealed in August 2016, three searches have been carried out by police officers to the home of the accused, his parents and his place of work.

One of the police officers who were involved in these raids has also been questioned by the lawyers.

A publication ban prevents us, however, to give further clarification about what might be discovered or the specific techniques used to track down Jonathan Bettez, who has been arrested by the police on August 29, 2016.
