The production of electric vehicles in China is in full expansion, so much so that the chinese manufacturers could go beyond the objectives set by their government.

In an interview with Reuters, the president of the automotive group BAIC, Xu Heyi, estimated that the total production of electric vehicles in China could reach one million units in 2018, and three million by 2020.

These predictions are far superior to what is referred to by the government, which has set a production target of two million units by 2020 and seven million by 2025.

In China, some leaders even speak of to imitate some european countries and to set a date on which the sale of new vehicles with internal combustion will be simply forbidden. France, the netherlands and Norway have already announced measures in this direction.

“The trend is final,” said Xu Heyi to Reuters. With a population of 1.4 billion people, this transition could have a major impact on the gas emissions to greenhouse effect in China.
