Congestion was to be expected, on Thursday morning, while highway 40 west was to be amputated of the left two lanes due to a pile-up involving five vehicles.

According to the ministry of Transport of Quebec, the accident would have occurred around 5: 25 at kilometre 91, that is, between the pont Charles-de Gaulle and the output Sherbrooke/Henri-Bourassa.

Two injured miners were transported to a hospital, according to Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

The accident may have been caused by a slowdown suddenly.

To add to the woes of motorists, a few meters before the incident, a vehicle broke down in the middle lane.
