Over 148 500 cheques holidays were provided to the construction workers by the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) this year, shared the organization Thursday morning in Montreal.

Of$ 400 Million dollars in vacation, more than a quarter have been paid to workers of the regions of Laval, Laurentides and Lanaudière, is$ 107 Million. The Montérégie region was granted more than$ 86 Million, then comes the region of Quebec, with$68 Million.

Note that a large part of the civil engineering work and road will not be paused during these holidays. The work is emergency, repair, maintenance, renovation, as some of the sites school, will continue.

    Danger on the roads

As every year, the Sûreté du Québec request to guests to be careful on the roads because a high number of family names will be there. The CCQ invites the holiday makers to the utmost caution and vigilance so that everyone returns to work and healthy except for the 7 August.

“There are a lot of people on the road during these holidays, and there are more people in the car also, then it is necessary to adapt,” says Annie Gauthier, spokesperson for CAA-Quebec, insisting to say that the displacement must be much better planned.

Recall that last year the hours worked in the construction industry rose by 3.3%, to more than 145 million hours. In the past year, the industry had more than 153 700 workers and 25 736 employers.
