Consumption of cannabis: the committees of parents want to set the age to 21 years

    The Fédération des comités de parents wants the legal age to consume cannabis should be set at 21 years in Quebec.

    “What are the effects of cannabis on the brain which is of concern to parents. These are our babies, ” quipped the president of the Fédération des comités de parents du Québec, Corinne Payne, Tuesday, during its passage in committee.

    The draft law governing the consumption of cannabis in the government Couillard fixed the legal age at 18 years. The CAQ requires prohibit the consumption of pot for under 21 years of age.

    The Federation also requests that it be forbidden to open a point of sale of cannabis within a kilometre of a primary or secondary school.
