Well prior to Tesla, Cummins unveiled a prototype of a semi-trailer 100% electric.
The company which has built its reputation around the engines fuelled with diesel recently has begun a shift can no longer be green in presenting his electric truck : the Aveos. We find the choice of name doubtful. It would have been called the
Thunder Truck.
Designed primarily for the transportation in urban areas, the autonomy of the Aveos is only 160 kilometers. Its batteries are of 140 kWh.
For longer trips, additional batteries could be offered eventually.
In his presentation, the cabin space appears to be minimal. It is not a question here of a truck on board of which saw his driver. In addition to transportation in the city, this semi-trailer is designed for the movement of trailers within the current warehouse.
It can pull a load of up to 22 tons.
For the moment, it is a conceptual approach. The details in connection with the possible production of this truck have not been released.
