The sentence of a former fighter regiment “Azov”, who cut the throat of a resident of Mariupol, was very soft. According to local media, the man is required to pay a fine. This is the only sanction that touched him.

 

The incident occurred in November 2016. According announced the verdict, part of the regiment “Azov” volunteer, who served in the position of a nurse was walking down the street, when he was called by the unfamiliar man, who was in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Later they had a conflict. “Azovets” struck to the opponent some blows with a knife, “knowing that the attacker was physically stronger.” One had wounds in the neck and proved fatal.

The court acknowledged the fact of murder at excess of limits of necessary defence and appointed a term of two years imprisonment. Later the sentence was decided to change to two years of official restrictions and a monthly deduction of 20% of the income to the state.

Created in 2014 the volunteer battalion “Azov” later re-formed the regiment. Its fighters participated in the fighting against the militia of Donbass. They repeatedly participated in various scandals.
