MELBOURNE – The Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski, who teamed with the Croatian Mate Pavic, qualified, Friday, for the final of the mixed doubles of the International tennis Melbourne, Australia.

Dabrowski and Pavic, ranked the eighth-seeded of the competition, defeated the duo consisting of Russian Ekaterina Makarova and Brazilian Bruno Soares in two sets of 6-1 and 6-4, in a match that lasted only 56 minutes.

This victory takes them directly to the final of the mixed doubles where they will play against the Hungarian Timea Babos, and the Indian Rohan Bopanna.

Recall that Ontario’s 25-year-old won the mixed doubles at Roland-Garros, last June, in the company of Bopanna. Together, they had defeated German Anna-Lena Groenefeld and the Colombian Robert Farah in three sets 2-6, 6-2 and 12-10.

On this day, Gabriela Dabrowski became the first canadian to win the Grand Slam.
