OTTAWA – Canadians are invited, Sunday, to lace up their skates to celebrate the end of Canada 150, in the framework of the “Day of the skate Canada 150”.
Throughout the day on Sunday, nearly 300 community hockey arenas across Canada will offer free activities, including a twenty key events specially concocted by Skate Canada.
Skates will be available for each of these activities to allow all to participate. Coaches will also be present to help novice skaters.
To celebrate this “Day of skating” and close the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of canadian Confederation, the lovers of the skate will start on the first ice rink on the Parliament hill in Ottawa.
48 events planned in Quebec
In Quebec, it is the Centre sportif de Sainte-Foy who will be the host of the event, from 14: 30 to 16: 50.
In Montreal, the flagship activity will take place at the centre sportif du Collège St-Jean-Vianney, from 13 h 30 to 15 h 30. But it will also be possible to have some fun on the ice at the Atrium Le 1000 de La Gauchetière, or even at the arena Rodrigue-Gilbert, aréna Saint-Michel and at the rink of the legion.
