The Parti québécois asks the Trudeau government to offer Quebec an economic incentive to purchase an electric car, which should be at least 6000 $.
This is what was stated by the spokesman of the PQ in terms of finances, Nicolas Marceau, Monday, on the eve of the tabling of the budget the minister of Finance, Bill Morneau, to Ottawa.
“The federal government, there is no discount. However, Canada is the only country in the G8 that does not offer discount on the purchase of electric vehicles,” said Mr Marceau.
“It helps at a delay of Quebec in the electrification of transport”, he added.
Mr. Marceau would also like to ensure that Quebec receives its “fair share” from Ottawa as to the financing of charging stations for electric car.
“Currently, 45 % of the electric vehicles rolling out in Canada are in Quebec. However, Quebec has received only 9 % of the funds for the implementation of charging stations,” said Mr Marceau.
Netflix
In addition, the Parti québécois has reiterated that the federal government must put an end to the tax treaties which have ongoing with the tax havens and tear up the agreement, which unites it to Netflix.
“By cancelling the tax treaties which bind us to tax havens recognized, then we will make it legal tax evasion. Then, tearing up the agreement with Netflix, and in forcing the multinational company to collect the taxes, like any local business, the plan of the “two weights, two measures” will end,” said Mr. Marceau.
Among its other claims, the PQ hopes that the Trudeau government will “finance the cellular coverage in the area, offering fishermen of Quebec support fair and firm commitments for the shipyard Davie”, summarized Mr. Marceau.
