Four people have been arrested during a strike of the police against a clandestine laboratory in a residential neighborhood in Chateauguay, on Saturday afternoon.

The Royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) told us suspect the presence of fentanyl and carfentanyl : a substance that is “100 times more dangerous than fentanyl,” according to Camille Habel, a spokesman for the RCMP.

“This is a laboratory where the mere presence of the substance, you should take the same precautions for the people of the community and our police officers,” she pointed out.

According to Camille Habel, the presence of such substances should not, however, worry the local population : “it is necessary to be in contact with the substance that it affects us. So the people around should not worry for their health.”

The spokesperson added that the investigation was conducted at high speed: the RCMP is able to carry out this operation in a few days.
