BROSSARD – The double murder that occurred Monday night in Brossard, Montérégie, has all the appearance of a settling of accounts, but it does not bear the signature of the bikers or organized crime, says Daniel Cléroux, analyst in police investigations.

The bodies of two young men of 21 and 23 years old were found in the parking lot of the Centre plein air, an isolated area. They are likely to have been shot at point-blank range.

What type of signature door this murder?

“To date, there is no signature. This is not the signature that bikers usually, this is not the signature that the organized crime a. It really feels like in a hollywood scriptwriter. It has the air of something completely different from what one is used to. Generally, the organized crime makes it a bang or cache the body.”

Why would they have been slaughtered?

“[They were found next to] a Lexus, which is still a nice vehicle for the young people of this age, and that does not seem to their name. I think that they have not filled out a contract, they have made a difference. There are many red flags that we raise to say: “there’s something that doesn’t work in this story-there”.”

The two victims had no criminal record, but police had been to the eye because of their bad dating.

“We know, but it can be just people who were surveyed. They may have been seen with people who are reported by the police. They may have been identified during surveillance with people ill-intentioned or organized crime.”

But this crime could not be connected to organized crime.

“If it was something that was already linked to organized crime, we would have already transferred the folder to the Sûreté du Québec, because it is them who are engaged in organized crime, bikers and the mafia. It’s still pretty nebulous.”

The police have made public the names of the victims. This is Kevin Paul, born in 1994, and Mohamed Odeh, born in 1996. They hope thus to advance the investigation?

“We just put the heat on people who can be in the environment of these young people, be it friends, associates. If there are any people associated with them, if they don’t want to be next, they will perhaps be involved in the police investigation.”

The double murder took place in Brossard, a territory where this kind of event doesn’t occur often.

“I don’t think that the territory has to do with the murder. It has more to do with two people who have not fulfilled the mandate that was given, I’m convinced of it.”
