EDMONTON | Edmonton police announced Friday that it seized more than $ 3.2 million of carfentanyl in a residence.

This acquisition qualified as a “record” by the police service, the alberta capital was made by pure chance. By intervening at the scene of a fire last week, firefighters discovered the white powder in the basement of the place and immediately notified the police.

These were subsequently hand-carried in 28 bags of one kilogram of white powder and blue, and powder pink. After analysis, the police determined that the powder pink and the 16 bags of powder blue seized contained carfentanyl, a drug one hundred times stronger than fentanyl.

“Given their toxicity, the ingestion of these substances, even in small amounts, can be fatal,” said by news release Shane Perka, inspector of the Edmonton police service.

According to the police, the bags seized were intended for resale in the street.
