    EDMONTON – police are searching for a suspect after an officer was injured during an altercation Saturday night near the Stadium Commonwealth Edmonton.

    The incident occurred around 20: 15 when a policeman in service controlled the traffic near 92nd street and 107th avenue.

    The Edmonton police said at the “Global News” that a driver would be dark in a police car: “The suspect exited his vehicle, he approached the officer and an altercation took place,” said Scott Pattison, spokesman for the Edmonton police Service.

    The police officer was transported to the hospital for serious injuries, but his life is not in danger. “It’s going well,” said the spokesman, without specifying the nature of the injury.

    As for the suspect, he fled on foot.

    Saturday evening, a dozen police cars were on the scene to try to find it. Several streets have been blocked to allow investigators to meet with witnesses and investigate the scene as well as the Chevrolet Malibu white left by the suspect.
