End horrible for a lineman to Mascouche

    A lineman came to an end terrible, on Wednesday morning, while it was a fatal fall of approximately 135 feet, Mascouche, on the north crown of Montreal.

    The victim, who works for a subcontractor of Hydro-Québec, they were working on the section 6 of the new line Chamouchouane-Bout-de-l’île when the tragedy happened.

    “The worker fell from a pole,” said Chantale Beaudoin, spokesperson of the Committee on standards, equity, health and safety in the workplace (CNESST).

    Two inspectors of the CNESST have been dispatched to the scene of the accident to secure the area and begin their investigation.

    In the late afternoon, it was not clear still the reasons of the fall.

    The tragic accident occurred on the construction site of the controversial project to Hydro-Québec Chamouchouane-Bout-de-l’île, which provides for the construction of a power line between Montreal and Lac-Saint-Jean.

    Since last fall, more than 700 people are working on this mega-project to build about 1,000 electrical pylons on the route.
