MONTREAL – After having controlled a fire in a building unoccupied on Argyle avenue in the borough of Verdun, at the beginning of the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the fire department of the Montreal fire Department (SIM) have noticed suspicious elements, pushing them to transfer the investigation to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

It is at 00: 05 as a call is made to 911 for a fire on Argyle avenue. The neighbouring buildings had to be evacuated because of the risk of spread, but fortunately the fire have managed to master all of that before other buildings are affected, has been reported to Manuel Couture, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The damages are very important for the building where the fire occurred, but no one was injured.

The people evacuated were able to return to their homes as soon as the event ended.

Avenues and Argyle and Bannantyne have been closed during the operation, but everything is back in order.
