First and second, Hamilton and Stroll beats records on the qualifications of the Grand Prix of Italy

Hamilton has signed a time of one minute and 34,660 seconds on the circuit of Monza.

Under a rain drue, the pilot Mercedes Lewis Hamilton signed the best time in the qualifying session at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Italy, on Saturday, surpassing the record of Michael Schumacher by signing his 69th pole position in career.

 

“I can’t believe it, 69 ! shouted Hamilton after you have accomplished the feat. I am so grateful. […] Italy, I love you. I’m going to celebrate this tonight with a pasta dish. “

 

Hamilton has signed a time of one minute and 34,660 seconds on the circuit of Monza. Under penalties imposed on the Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, the Quebec Lance Stroll will start alongside Hamilton on the first line.

Stroll, author of the fourth provisional time to 1,478 second of Hamilton, is at the same time became the youngest driver in history to start on the first row of the starting grid of a F1 Grand Prix.
