The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) want to put the population on guard against a couple suspected of having committed several robberies in restaurants of the Laurentians in the last few weeks.

An investigation is underway about a series of similar crimes that have occurred in restaurants, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.

Each time, a couple came in the trade for eating a meal. But according to the authorities, “citing different pretexts,” the man and the woman would never have paid their bills.

“The police are asking the merchants of the region to be vigilant in relation to the clients that relate to such a ploy, whether in a restaurant or a retail business,” said the SQ in a press release.

The police also ask any trader who has been the victim of such a scheme to lodge a complaint so that suspects are brought before the courts.
