The family Charland-Lesage, a native of Three Rivers, is at the forefront of hurricane Harvey.

The family lives south of Houston, in Manvel, a city suburb. Their residence, located in height, is still not flooded, but they are confined.

“The roads are completely flooded! You can’t go nowhere unless you have a boat. And then as we are in the south, we know that it’s going to take more time before the emergency, and provisions arrive here,” says the mother of the family, Julie Lesage.

The mother of Julie Lesage feels good to be away from his daughter.

“It is unnerving, it is worrying, sleeping badly and you shake from the inside, but so far it’s going well for them,” says Diane Hébert.

Everyone dreads the next few days. The american authorities have announced that the peak of flooding is expected to be reached Wednesday or Thursday.

“We have provisions for several weeks! Then if the water gets to the first floor, we’ll go to the second floor of the house! For the moment, I’m not too worried, says Julie Lesage.

“I hope they’re not too much damage! And then I know that when I am going to go home at the end of September, I’m going to explore Houston in a new way. I believe that there will be a lot of damage,” says Ms. Hébert.

The transition of Harvey does not appear to make the young girls of the couple too anxious. During a lull in the rain, they took out the inflatable boat in the yard for a little fun.

The mother of the family does not intend to return to Quebec city anytime soon: “I prefer several hurricane Harvey storms of winter!”
