Flooding: the level of the Saint-François river is to the downside

    DRUMMONDVILLE – The level of the Saint-François river is on the decline. Friday, the water withdrew slowly, at a rate of about an inch at a time.

    The evacuation alert was still in effect for 13 residences in the path of the Longue-Pointe in Drummondville.

    The damage caused by the water are important. Several basements were flooded.

    It is still not clear at what point local residents will be able to return to their home.

    According to the experts, with analysis of weather, water levels and flows will be to the downside for at least the next six days.

    Excavator floating continues to work to break up the ice jam on the Saint-François river.

    The authorities continue to monitor the level and movement of the ice.
