MONTREAL – ON the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the association Leucan, which assists children with cancer and their families, put in place starting on Thursday of a new campaign of awareness in virtual reality.
“In 40 years, Leucan has supported and accompanied more than 10,000 families through this difficult trial, in addition to providing almost $ 20 million to clinical research, thus contributing to the progression of survival rates from 15% to 82 %.
Leucan aims for the next few years to reduce the side effects of treatment with the aim of improving the quality of life of survivors,” said Pascale Bouchard, director of the association, in a press release.
The new strategy of awareness-raising for Leucan is a virtual reality experience called to take their place.
It is a movie immersive that makes the audience to experience the intensity of the emotions experienced by families whose child has cancer, while showing how Leucan provides support at every stage of the disease.
The film has been designed from real testimony and will be presented, starting on Thursday, on the different sites of the shaved heads Challenge and in all the other activities of Leucan across the province of Quebec.
