Forest fires in British Columbia: 225 military reinforcements

    OTTAWA | The canadian armed Forces (CAF) announced on Thursday, sending 225 additional military reinforcements in British Columbia to fight forest fires.

    These additional military from a base in Edmonton, adding to about 150 already in place in the province of the West.

    The military will have for mission to inform the public, control access zones, evacuate people in distress and transporting essential goods.

    “The canadian armed Forces are always ready to help Canadians in need and they are proud of”, stressed in a written statement, rear admiral, Art McDonald.

    The forest fires in British Columbia have up to now made nearly 40 000 victims.

    The military will join on the field forty firefighters from Quebec who flew in this week for British Columbia.
