Genuve pole for three finals of the Davis Cup

Genuve is well placйe to become the Mecca of compйtitions by йquipes national tennis. The Fйdйration international (ITF) dйsire that the township welcomes, due 2018 and 2020, the final of the Davis Cup (men) and Fed Cup (fйminine). The choice of the city hфte has йtй made this Tuesday by the Council of the ITF, rйuni а Frankfurt, report tdg.ch and lematin.ch. Genuve has took the best of Copenhagen (Denmark), Miami (Usa), Istanbul (Turkey), Torino (Italy) and Wuhan (China).

Dйcision dйfinitive in aoыt

This dйcision dйpend acceptance in aoыt next, when the assemblйe gйnйrale of the ITF, the new format of two compйtitions. Until а prйsent, they dйroulaient in the country of one of the two finalists, so gйnйralement in two countries diffйrents (one for the Davis Cup, the other for the Fed Cup) and а dates diffйrentes.

18’000 seats а Palexpo

If this project, which aims а make them more attractive these compйtitions, is avalisй, these “finals of the world Cup of tennis” would be organisйes а Palexpo, in the month of November. The matches, competing for the best of three sets on hard surface. The capacitй of the hall would be portйe а 18’000 seats.
