CANBERRA, Australia | people in and around Canberra, Australia’s capital city, can now get burritos that are sent directly to the home by drones.

In effect, the Alphabet, the company that oversees Google, has started testing drone delivery that brings mexican dishes directly into the homes of guinea pigs living in rural areas around Canberra.

“Our testers, breeders of alpacas, professors of mathematics, horsemen, artists – not to mention a few kangaroos curious – we help to improve the precision of our drones,” explained the responsible of the Project Wing, James Ryan Burgess, in a blog.

Specifically, the guinea pigs may order products from the chain mexican food Guzman y Gomez and pharmacies Chemist Warehouse from an application on their smart phone. A drone is then sent to the trade, where it retrieves the command to send to the client.

The persons covered by the delivery service still in the test phase live to several tens of minutes of road of any trade. The use of drones is therefore interesting to perform deliveries at home, ” said Mr. Burgess.

Deliveries by drone pose various challenges. “It is more complicated than it seems to be. For example, many of our clients want the packages to be deposited in the back yard so that they are not visible from the street, or near the kitchen so that food can be unpacked quickly,” explained the responsible.

“The more we do testing of delivery, […] more algorithms, our devices will improve to find sites delivery secure”, he added.

The drones are expected to spend the next month criss-crossing the sky of the region.
