Granby: a thief gets stuck in his vehicle to rest on its roof after a rollover

    An armed robbery went wrong for the alleged thief who was pinned in her vehicle after being chased by police, Sunday evening, at Granby.

    According to preliminary information obtained from the service de police de Granby, it all started a little before 20: 30 p.m. when an emergency call came in for an armed robbery in a convenience store of the rue Denison East.

    The suspect, who fled in a vehicle after having successfully completed its flight, has been located in downtown Granby, a few minutes later by patrolmen from the sûreté municipale.

    Caught in a chase, he lost control of his vehicle which flipped over, explained lieutenant Claude Raymond. The vehicle stopped on the roof, and the man remained stuck in the cabin until the fire department the way out using the jaws of life.

    The man, in the late forties, was injured, but it does not fear for his life, said lieutenant Raymond. It was conducted at the Centre hospitalier de Granby.
