LAGUNA BEACH | Harvey Weinstein, the producer accused of rape and sexual harassment, is “a monster” but it is not a unique case, said Monday night one of the major figures in Hollywood, Jeffrey Katzenberg.

“Make no mistake, this is a monster”, launched the winery in a public interview conducted at a conference organized by the Wall Street Journal in Laguna Beach, California.

“The problem is that there are a pack of wolves. It is not the only one in there. This is what we must really seek to resolve”, he added.

Several dozens of actresses, including stars of world renown such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, or Mira Sorvino, have accused the producer of having been sexually harassed.

Most of Hollywood is turning away from Harvey Weinstein.

“I am fully convinced that Harvey Weinstein is not alone in this type of case,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, who has led for a decade, and until 1994 the Walt Disney studios. He was even the boss of Harvey Weinstein for a time, during the acquisition of the production house Miramax of the Weinstein brothers by Disney in 1993.

Jeffrey Katzenberg has said they had “a lot of thought in its internal forum,” to understand how he had been able to remain blind to the behavior of Harvey Weinstein against actresses looking for a role in a movie. “There are two Harvey. One way or another, I hid this behavior,” said the producer.

“All the people in a leading position today in Hollywood,” reflecting on how to make this type of behaviour does not happen again, he added.
