The Québec police has resorted to the weapon electrical pulse in the night from Thursday to Friday to learn a suspect believed to have killed the cat of a tenant in his apartment building.

The 35 year old man was arrested Thursday in the late afternoon, in the district of Saint-Sauveur, for breaking and entering and cruelty to an animal.

“At 16 h 45, the concierge of an apartment building in the rue de Montmartre has communicated with the 911 service [because] that one of the tenants would be entered by breaking into another apartment and would have killed the cat [a] resident”, explained the spokesman of the police Department of the City of Quebec David Poitras.

“Once there, police located the suspect, a 35 year old man, and also the cat, who apparently was gutted and died,” he said.

The man seemed to be suffering from a psychological disorder. According to the SPVQ, “the suspect in this folder is believed that the cat was the demon.”

The individual would have worked with the peace officers at the time of his arrest and during his detention at the police station. But in the middle of the night, around 1: 35 a.m. he was taken to police when they have decided to transport him by ambulance to a hospital to receive care in mental health.

According to the SPVQ, the suspect is taken unexpectedly to a female police officer, grabbing him by the arm and the biting, in addition to land a punch to the face of another police officer.

“The suspect had to be mastered with the help of the device to electrical impulse, and was transferred to a hospital in order to receive the appropriate care. There were no physical injury,” said David Poitras.
