    THREE RIVERS | the father of A family who set fire to his house while his children were to touch the money of the insurance should go to jail.

    March 13, 2014, Dave Mailloux, age 37, went to pick up his children at his ex-spouse and then returned to his home in Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, in Mauricie.

    He then set fire to the residence on the supper hour in the hope of recovering insurance money.

    Dave Mailloux, expected that insurance companies believe more easily to a simple fire for cooking if his children were in the home at the time of the fire, according to relatives called to testify at trial.

    He had problems with alcohol, money, and could not sell his residence.

    When a child has noticed the smoke, the father went to the safety of a neighbour’s house, to which he was asked to call the fire department.

    No one was injured, but the home of $ 117,000 has been declared a total loss.

    Dave Mailloux, for his part, has always said to be innocent and has maintained his version of the fire.

    The accused, however, had discussed his plan with several people, including his ex-wife, who testified at the trial where he was convicted.

    She said that she never wanted to just not leave with the children that day, lest it start a fire. However, he had managed to convince her that it would not happen anything, and she had left the children.

    Since the events, Dave Mailloux has had a third baby of a relationship with his new wife, who tried to defend him before the judge.

    “I want you to know that the man I know is not the man who has been described here,” she said, calling Him by affectionate father.

    The latest from Dave Mailloux has a year end of September, while his father could take the path of the cells on the 12 October.
