    A psychologist from Montreal, has admitted that he not only had sex for almost 10 years with a vulnerable patient, but also that he was charging their time of lovemaking.

    Ronald Side pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct last week in front of the disciplinary Council of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. He risk a cancellation of seven years and a fine of $5,000.

    It will be the first psychologist to be hit by a penalty as severe, since, as of June, the minimum penalty is now five years for sexual misconduct. The disciplinary Board will make its decision in this matter within three months.

    The government has tightened the screw to avoid the penalties of only a few months to which the professional orders were limited.     The psychologist also breached the honour of his profession by continuing to charge for the appointment of his patient with him, even if they slept together.     Wine therapy

    The therapeutic methods of the psychologist are also condemned in the complaint of the syndicates assistant.

    Still according to the document, the psychologist was believed to have consumed alcohol in the company of his / her patient on several occasions, especially at his cottage in the Laurentians, before ” acts of abusive sexual and to have with it sexual relations “.

    Ronald Side was further placed in a conflict of interest by renting his cottage to his patient’s and has not complied with its obligations by not taking to update its folder.

    The psychologist has also hampered the investigation of the syndicates assistant last summer.

    False statements
