The front and back of the vehicle are completely black, while the doors are white with a yellow band and green khaki, in addition to being equipped with a reflective strip and flashing lights illuminated with lights to LED.

“There has been a study of the color to adopt for the new car fleet and what that was, it was the contrast of colors, which leads to better visibility, thus a better safety for patrol officers and citizens,” said Ann Mathieu, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

    225 vehicles will be deployed

In total, 225 vehicles will be deployed soon all over Quebec, on the possibility of 1 060. The complete replacement of the fleet will be on three years, ” says Ms Mathieu. The vehicles are replaced when they show up 200 000 kilometres on the odometer.

    The uniforms are still slow

The SQ has also adopted new uniforms for its police officers. According to the update obtained, the deliveries in the different positions have begun. The operation will take several months and will be post by post. Citizens should see the first patrol in their new uniform as soon as the end of the month of November.

The uniforms were to be delivered last spring, but many problems have delayed the arrival, according to what The Newspaper reported a month ago.

Only the covers of flak jackets and caps were available. For the clothes, the suppliers have encountered some difficulties in the making, as pockets poorly sewn on the trousers and a compliance problem in the design of the shirts and the quote from base.
