Rick Modi, 24, pleaded not guilty to a charge of hit-and-run fatal that occurred in Saint-Constant on the 27th of may last.

The accused was arrested on Wednesday, more than a month and a half after the drama, during which a child has lost the life.

The victim, a toddler of 2 years old named Dominique Wenga, had escaped the vigilance of his parents before being struck to death in attempting to cross the street in front of the family residence.

The accused was considered the primary suspect from the very beginning. His car, a Chevrolet Cruze black, had also been seized a few hours after the child had been hit on the rue Rabelais. It was also within 60 metres of the parents of little Dominique.
