Residents of the South Shore of Montreal have been forced to wait long hours in the cold, Sunday morning, expect to see a doctor.
This is particularly the case at the medical clinic Pierre-Boucher in Longueuil where patients have waited more than two hours in the cold while the mercury was – 22 degrees.
“They take only 20 people, not more. It was the same yesterday and I made myself force it to edge,” said a man who introduced himself to 4: 30 p.m. in front of the clinic, which opened its doors officially at 8 h.
In fact, a poster affixed to the door indicated that the number of patients seen by the doctor was limited.
“It’s a little disheartening to get sick in the cold. But you must do what you must,” said a patient encountered by TVA News.
Many have denounced the fact that they had to wait outside despite the frigid temperatures at the time.
Alternatives
Alternatives to these expectations to the outside exist.
Suffering people can use the website Hello-Health where doctors MEDICARE can offer time slots for an appointment.
This service is free when the usual doctor is available. In the contrary case, it will need to spend approximately 17,25 $.
