Two days after that snow and freezing rain fell on Montreal, the situation is far from simple, both for drivers and for pedestrians in the metropolis.

If the sidewalks of the great arteries have been deglaciated, those of the smaller streets are still often covered with a layer of ice that forces pedestrians to take extra care. Others simply decide to walk in the street to avoid falls.

For motorists, it is the parking that is causing the problem so that the piles of snow have turned to ice, condemning at the same time dozens of parking spaces.

The City of Montreal account on the warmer day expected on Saturday to re-establish the situation as it will not trigger a new load operation of the snow. Precipitation that are transformed into blocks of ice as this can damage the machinery.
