Today, October 1st, in China, in a big way celebrate a major national holiday, namely the 68th anniversary since the establishment of the people’s Republic of China. The founder of this tradition is a well-known Chinese leader Mao Zedong.
Mao Zedong for the first time in 1949, publicly announced the establishment of the PRC in the Central square of the country, Tiananmen, which is now annually held the solemn ceremony of the assumption of the state flag, which signals the beginning of the holiday.
This ceremony has a special significance for the Chinese as it is performed at sunrise, which falls exactly on the 6:05 local time. Within the specified period the soldiers of the honor guard passed the flag under special Patriotic music and, at the same time, despite the brevity of this event, which may not exceed 2 minutes and 6 seconds, watched by approximately 115 thousand citizens of the PRC.
Besides the festival, people in China expect a holiday vacation called “Golden week”, during which they go on a journey across the country or abroad.
