OTTAWA – The refugees who enter the country illegally are more likely to do this by the government of Quebec, would appear to show the most recent data of the government of Canada on the subject.

The royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) intercepted 781 refugees who have illegally entered at Quebec in the month of June, or 267 more than the average of the previous five months (514).

“Although the total number of border irregular in June to be consistent over the last few months, there has been a marked shift in the place of entry. The reductions observed in Manitoba have been accompanied by increases in Quebec”, explained the minister of public Safety, Ralph Goodale.

Like other months of 2017, the province of Quebec is by far the province where the RCMP has proceeded to the greatest number of interceptions of illegal migrants in June.

“Trying to sneak up on the other side of the border does not give a “pass” for Canada. All persons crossing the border irregularly are arrested by the police authorities or local”, has also said Mr. Goodale.

In terms of the number of asylum-seekers dealt with by the offices of the Agency of Canada border services during the first six months of 2017, the province of Quebec (3315) comes second, behind Ontario (3980).
