In Petersburg have arrested a man who planned to blow up the Kazan Cathedral. He will sit behind bars at least until February 13 of next year. Information about this is reported the Northern capital of Russia.

 

The Investigative Committee in the Leningrad region reported that the suspect told the court of his intention to destroy the Kazan Cathedral. The citizen produced his own explosives, which were confiscated by law enforcement authorities. Kazan Cathedral is one of the largest churches of St. Petersburg. It was created in the period from 1801 to 1811. During the invasion of Napoleon who wanted to conquer Moscow, he became the monument of Russian glory.

Kazan Cathedral is known that in 1813 here was buried field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov. Messages about the reasons that prompted the man to try to blow up the temple, not reported.
