NEW DELHI | A member of the paramilitary forces of india have killed four of his comrades and injured another in a barracks in the centre of India, announced Sunday a local official under cover of anonymity.
It is likely to be the result of an argument that this member of the Forces, the central reserve of the indian police force (CRPF) opened fire on the other paramilitary Saturday around 17 pm (11: 30 GMT) in the district of Bijapur, in the State of Chhattisgarh.
A top official of the State police, Sundar Raj P., said on Saturday evening to local media that the circumstances and the reasons for the shooting were under investigation.
The shooter, Sanath Kumar, 35, has been arrested, he said.
The head of the local government, Raman Singh, has condemned in a tweet that the murder of the members of the CRPF, which is deployed in its State for counter-insurgency operations.
Chhattisgarh is a stronghold of the maoist rebellion.
