    The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has opened an investigation into the suspicious death of a newborn occurred Sunday at Two Mountains in the Laurentians.

    After receiving a call from a hospital centre, the municipal police of Two Mountains has transferred the investigation to the section of crimes against the person of SQ.

    “It is considered as a suspicious death, said Hugo Fournier, spokesman for the SQ. The hospital center has joined us to inform us of the situation. The circumstances surrounding this case remain to be determined. There are also elements of the investigation that we not disclose not for the moment.”

    Since Sunday, the service of the forensic identification of the SQ has inspected the residence of the mother, and various witnesses have been met.

    VAT News has learned that the mother of the dead baby had been in the news a few years ago when she had given birth to a baby girl without having been aware of her pregnancy of 39 weeks.
