    By developing a fully electric version of the legendary E-Type, Jaguar explains want to ensure the future of collection vehicles. Genius idea or desecration?

    In its offices in Coventry, a team of Jaguar has removed the six-cylinder engine in line of an E-Type and was replaced by an electric powertrain with a power of 295 horses. Faster than the original version, this classic electrified can now go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

    Apart from this new mechanic, Jaguar has also replaced the original dash with a touch screen taste of the day. We also got rid of the headlights original to install LED, more energy-efficient. In total, this E-Type Zero Concept weighs 46 pounds less than the original gasoline.

    Its autonomy would be about 270 miles, which is more than what was proposed in many vehicles modern electric, starting with the new Nissan Leaf 2018.

    The idea with this concept is not to replace the E-Type on the market, but to suggest to owners of this model of switch from gasoline to electricity. “It is not unthinkable that a city such as London could one day ban vehicles with internal combustion,” explains Tim Hanning, director of the department of classics at Jaguar Land Rover. “We show the product to our customers, and we’ll see what will the market of this concept,” says he simply.
