QUEBEC | The new governor general of Canada, Julie Payette, has delivered several awards Thursday at the Citadelle of Québec, which is in Martin Prud’homme, the new boss of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
Martin Prud’homme, who has been made an officer of the Order of merit of the police forces, did not want to answer the questions of the journalists the day after his appointment as temporary administrator of the Montreal police, after the chief Philippe Pitcher had been suspended from his duties.
Julie Payette has also honored artists such as Dan Bigras for The “show du refuge” and the guys of the successful play Broue, Michel Côté, Marcel Gauthier and Marc Messier.
The contribution of several persons engaged in volunteer work was also welcomed, as are acts of bravery.

The governor general has also benefited from its passage in the Old Capital to meet up at the same time the prime minister of Quebec Philippe Couillard, the leader of the opposition Jean-François Lisée and the president of the national Assembly, Jacques Chagnon.
