MONTREAL – Several shops, institutions and services will be closed on Monday, on the occasion of Labour day. Here is some information to better organize the day.
Closed
In Montreal, most of the offices of the City will be closed, Monday, September 4, as the municipal court and its service points.
The offices of the government of Canada and Quebec will be closed, just as Canada Post offices, banks, shopping centres and food establishments of large surface area.
The complexe sportif Claude-Robillard and the outdoor tennis courts will be closed.
Open
The small food shops will now be able to accommodate the customer. The pharmacies will also be able to open, such as convenience stores, bookstores, florists, restaurants, or service stations.
The branches of the SAQ Express and a Selection will be open, unless they are located in a shopping center.
The public markets will be open.
For family activities, the insectarium, the botanical Garden, the Biodôme, the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, the museum Pointe-à-Callière, museum of archaeology and history of Montreal will also be open.
All ecocentres will be open according the regular schedule of the summer, every day from 8 h to 18 h.
For swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and places of cultural dissemination, the public is invited to view the schedule of their district.
The various collections (household waste, bulk refuse, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves) will be held according to the regular schedule in all five boroughs.
