THREE-RIVERS | there are no providers to recipients who are out of breath in NURSING homes. The lack of staff also has a direct impact on the beneficiaries and their relatives.

Robert Lafond has more than a few months to live, but this is not his own death that makes him anxious, but instead to leave his wife alone in a CHSLD de Trois-Rivières.

“Me, I arrived there in the morning, at 6: 30, then I’m off at 7 p.m. nightly. They revirent, they dress it, I prepare his bed, I layer. When I leave, she’s lying”, has listed Mr. Lafond.

“I did eat, I did breakfast, dinner and supper”, he added, Monday, at a press conference held by family caregivers.

Many family caregivers are paying more of $ 1800 per month to guarantee a place at their spouses, as well as $ 25 more per week to guarantee a bath tub in additional to their loved ones.

However, they can not receive this service because the staff in place is inadequate and is not able to honor it.

These caregivers are now considering to get their sum by commencing a class action against the CIUSSS of the Mauricie region.
