About 275,000 customers were without power in Montreal, Tuesday morning, due to a cable severed by employees of Hydro-Québec.
This blackout was caused to 8.40 during work at the substation to the End-of-the Island, located in the east of Montreal. Hydro-Québec has indicated that the current will be progressively restored by 10: 30.

It affected mostly the neighbourhoods of Villeray, Ahuntsic, Plateau Mont-Royal, Rosemont, Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montréal-Nord and Montréal-est.
The service on the blue line of the subway was interrupted around 8: 45. It should resume around 10: 20 according to the Société de transport de Montréal. A special service of bus that was shuttling between the stations of St-Michel and Snowdon. The other lines were not affected.
